NEWS FLASH: Ricky Martin Is Gay…

Here is the statement the star who had twin sons via a surrogate in 2008 posted on his official site:

A few months ago I decided to write my memoirs, a project I knew was going to bring me closer to an amazing turning point in my life. From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time. Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside. Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And thisis something worth celebrating.

For many years, there has been only one place where I am in touch with my emotions fearlessly and that’s the stage. Being on stage fills my soul in many ways, almost completely. It’s my vice. The music, the lights and the roar of the audience are elements that make me feel capable of anything. This rush of adrenaline is incredibly addictive. I don’t ever want to stop feeling these emotions. But it is serenity that brings me to where I’m at right now. An amazing emotional place of comprehension, reflection and enlightenment. At this moment I’m feeling the same freedom I usually feel only on stage, without a doubt, I need to share.

Many people told me: “Ricky it’s not important”, “it’s not worth it”, “all the years you’ve worked and everything you’ve built will collapse”, “many people in the world are not ready to accept your truth, your reality, your nature”. Because all this advice came from people who I love dearly, I decided to move on with my life not sharing with the world my entire truth. Allowing myself to be seduced by fear and insecurity became a self-fulfilling prophecy of sabotage. Today I take full responsibility for my decisions and my actions.

If someone asked me today, “Ricky, what are you afraid of?” I would answer “the blood that runs through the streets of countries at war…child slavery, terrorism…the cynicism of some people in positions of power, the misinterpretation of faith.” But fear of my truth? Not at all! On the contrary, It fills me with strength and courage. This is just what I need especially now that I am the father of two beautiful boys that are so full of light and who with their outlook teach me new things every day. To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids where born with. Enough is enough. This has to change. This was not supposed to happen 5 or 10 years ago, it is supposed to happen now. Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment.

These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed.

What will happen from now on? It doesn’t matter. I can only focus on what’s happening to me in this moment. The word “happiness” takes on a new meaning for me as of today. It has been a very intense process. Every word that I write in this letter is born out of love, acceptance, detachment and real contentment. Writing this is a solid step towards my inner peace and vital part of my evolution.

I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.

Nicki Minaj and Amber Rose on the set of Nicki’s “Massive Attack” video

Several pictures, which were taken from the Hype Williams-directed video and first brought forward by Rap-Up, show the 's female rapper riding a pink Lamborghini with a helicopter flying over her head. Female troop dressed in pink outfit and helmets with the same color also invades the desert.

"I brought my BFF Amber Rose out here," Nicki told MTV. "This is a massive attack. We shot the helicopter scene. Obviously, I had to have a hot-pink Lamborghini. We're having fun in the car, and we see a freakin' helicopter chase us. So we get on the walkie-talkie, like, 'Mayday! Mayday!' It's really fashion and beauty shots, and we're acting like we're doing something important."

"I kinda always like to do things in an unexpected fashion," she added. "I didn't want to shoot the typical new-artist vision. Thank God I have a wonderful label that stands behind me and my vision. I met Hype in a freakin' airport. I didn't recognize him without his dreads."

"We exchanged information, and it happened to be a week before I wanted to shoot a video. I told him the idea. Of course, I had to let Baby and Slim know and hope they would understand my expensive taste. It all came together. Sean Garrett is on the hook."

"Massive Attack" is taken from Nicki Minaj's debut album which will be released later this year. In a recent interview with BET, she opened up her interest to make a duet with in the upcoming release. "I think I could come up with some crazy stuff for Beyonce," she stated. "I have things that I write for girls, like R&B singers."

Ludacris Wants an Eminem Collabo and Talks Dr. Dre's "Detox"

Luda says he would love to officially lay down a collaboration with Dre and Em in the near future.

"I always wanted to work with Dr. Dre and I got a chance to work with him and then Eminem, I've talked to Eminem so hopefully we can make that happen," Luda said about collaborating with both artists. "I was definitely doing a little ghostwriting but you know, we'll see what happens. He has a lot of different tracks that he has to choose from for the Detox album so it is what it is. I think he has the chemistry and exactly what everyone wants, it's about staying innovative, being yourself and always have the good music. Good music will last throughout the ages no matter how things change and he always produces some good music." (Young Hollywood)

Last summer, Luda confirmed Dre's leaked "O.G.'s Theme" song was a ghostwritten track he inked for the producer.

"It was for Dre," Luda confirmed in an interview. "I wrote it for Dre...It was supposed to be for Detox, but I don?t know since it got leaked. I don't know if it's gonna get used...I wrote a couple records and that was one of them." (Rap-Up)

Dre recently said the studio time he's dedicated to other artists has further delayed the album.

"Once that sound is right, once that mix is right, it's a feeling that you get, here -- It's unexplainable," Dre said about putting together his records. "I have to go out to clubs now...You need to understand what people are listening to. I'm working hard on it. I'm stopping to work on other artists in-between, but the minute it's done and I feel it right here. I don't think I've done that [perfect] record yet. I'll know what it is when it comes; I know exactly what it is in my head, but I haven't done it yet. It's close...I got some sh*t coming, believe me." (Guardian)

How to leave a bad relationship

In Nigeria, especially when you are a woman of a certain age (Basically 24 and over), a breakup is treated like a death by many around you.
“Ah ah after all you have invested in the relationship”
“Don’t let another woman come and enjoy your work o”
“So what if he cheated on you/never called you/slapped you/was a terrible boyfriend/You don’t love him, all men are like that now, he will change”

You hear all sorts of things from all sources, mums/aunties/friends etc…
Even in situations when its not technically a “bad” relationship, sometimes you just know he is not the person you are meant to be with but because of pressure stick with it.
When I spotted this article, thought it was helpful and might help someone.

Article by Liz Wilde
Source: The Daily Mail
Falling into a relationship is easy. But extricating yourself from one is quite another matter. Most of us will do all we can to put off confrontation – but the cleaner the break, the easier it will be for both of you to move on.

Life coach and author LIZ WILDE explains why we hang onto toxic relationships, and gives some tips on how to start over.

STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIS BEHAVIOUR

Women tend to be better than men at making excuses for their partner’s apathy.

He never rings when he says he will? He must be very busy at work.

But our natural understanding can blind us to the truth. People show us who they are all the time, we just have to be brave enough to listen.

Stop making excuses for him, and suddenly you can see your relationship far more clearly – and whether you still want to be part of it.

The most common cause of anger at the end of any relationship is a sense of betrayal triggered by the fantasy one partner has created about the other.

DON’T WASTE MORE TIME DEFENDING YOUR MISTAKE

How many years are you going to wait for that wonderful man you fell in love with to re-appear?

No one wants to be proved wrong, which is why so many of us choose to stick with a bad relationship rather than admit we made a bad choice.

But staying in an unhappy relationship for five years is a mistake – and staying in it for a lifetime is a catastrophe.

Far better to stop defending the decision you made way back when and start considering a new decision based on what’s happening now.

Life can be hard enough without choosing someone difficult to share it with. No one finds it easy to end a relationship, but the sooner you recognise what’s happening and take control, the less hurt you will suffer.

REMEMBER WHO YOU USED TO BE

Women are also more likely than men to make changes during a relationship, and it’s easy to forget you were once an independent person with an enjoyable life.

Now is the time to review those changes. Perhaps there are friends you stopped seeing because he didn’t like them, or interests you no longer had time for?

People who socialise recover more quickly from a break-up, and being with friends who are fond of you feels good.

The best partners are people who like themselves. Resolve to be that person and your choice in men will improve.

Why? Because we only go after what we think we deserve.

SET NEW RELATIONSHIP STANDARDS

The fear of history repeating itself stops many of us from enjoying dating again, but you can protect yourself from previous mistakes by compiling a list of standards for potential new partners.

Choose behaviours that have hurt you in the past, and begin each sentence with: ‘I will not go out with a man who… doesn’t do what he says he will / makes me feel stupid / refuses to talk about the future / never has any free time.’

The best partner is someone who shares your values.

If you couldn’t live with yourself if you acted that way, the chances are you will find it very difficult to live with him.

Always bear in mind that it’s far easier to choose well in the first place than attempt to change a person six months down the line.

BELIEVE THERE IS SOMEONE BETTER OUT THERE

The only way to find out if there’s someone better for you out there is to first believe it could be true.

There is never a good reason to give up hope, so stay away from doom-and-gloom stories, and change the subject when friends complain there are no good men left.

And don’t be put off by a string of bad relationships. It doesn’t mean you’re hopeless at picking people – we’re all guilty of showing our very best side at the beginning.

It just means that when the danger signs started to show, you chose to ignore them. Being ‘unlucky in love’ simply means you haven’t got out of bad relationships fast enough.

DON’T EXPECT TO BE HAPPY IMMEDIATELY

The reason so many people rebound back into bad relationships is because they expect to be happy the minute they leave.

But you left to give yourself the chance to find happiness. It’s like cleaning out a room so you can start to repaint.

It doesn’t have to happen today, but know that you are working towards it every day. When you believe you can be successful, you lose that (hugely unattractive) feeling of desperation.

Meeting new men and flirting can become a pleasure as you’re not constantly worrying about the outcome. When you’re not in a hurry, you can enjoy people for who they are.

And despite all their problems, relationships are still the very best things in life.

Good Girls Gone Bad

Last evening I had a very intense conversation with my friend J who insisted on interrogating me on why so many women tend to go for the good guy only after they've had their fun in their 20's?!?! I barely got a word in edge wise while he described the unfairness and utter frustration from this trend.

Here is the issue at hand; beginning with high school, through college and post college years many women go through this enlightened era of "girls just wanna have fun"! What usually happens here is that the fun is had with the more spontaneous, usually more attractive man who also doesn't attend his classes, can't hold down a job, can't make a serious commitment and often leaves her with a few heartbreaks.

After 10 or so years women tend to get tired of chasing after this kind of a man and now they're ready to settle down. But here's the problem - now there's baggage! Now she comes with a wounded heart, maybe a child or two and just want's a settle down for a normal life. But guess what, according to J, these good men didn't forget getting dissed time and time again through out those 10 years for the "cooler" guy. And they refuse now to take on a woman's baggage and get the more boring, wounded woman who now just wants to settle down and live a "normal" life. These good men wanted then and wants now to have wild fun as well, they want a woman who will love them with intense passion and can't keep her hands off him!! These are the men we often passed by in the hall and didn't even give a second look to and sometimes even laughed while passing by. You know, they get to class on time, they're usually studying after school, reading, maybe have a part time job. These are traits of discipline, commitment and responsibility the kind of man who becomes a VP, a successful entrepreneur, a doctor or maybe a politician. So what kind of a woman you think he's looking for now? The kind with a long rap sheet? Think again........

Barack Obama And The Democrats Push Through Historic Health Care Reform Bill

Summoned to success by President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled Congress approved historic legislation Sunday night extending health care to tens of millions of uninsured Americans and cracking down on insurance company abuses, a climactic chapter in the century-long quest for near universal coverage.

Widely viewed as dead two months ago, the Senate-passed bill cleared the House on a 219-212 vote. Republicans were unanimous in opposition, joined by 34 dissident Democrats.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the legislation awaiting the president’s approval would extend coverage to 32 million Americans who lack it, ban insurers from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions and cut deficits by an estimated $138 billion over a decade. If realized, the expansion of coverage would include 95 percent of all eligible individuals under age 65.

For the first time, most Americans would be required to purchase insurance, and face penalties if they refused.

Delta State born producer and musician OJB Jezreel has produced many hit songs including Tuface Idibia's African Queen. He gave an interview recently to City People magazine.
Excerpt...

Can you rate the top 3 Nigerian producers?
OJB Jezreel "That's very tight because there are a lot of them now. Definitely Cobhams, Frabs and I wish I could put it together, that is ID Cabasa and Joe Kenny in one place.

Where do you place someone like Don Jazzy?
OJB "He's a good producer but you said my top 3 and he's not in my top 3. I'm sure if you ask him who's your top 3, he will say Terry G, Terry G, Terry G.

Do you guys talk when you see?
OJB "Of course we do

But you are not really in good terms?
OJB "We talk well, but all the same, someone can be greeting you and laughing with you everyday but it doesn't mean that the person is doing the right thing"

What do you think he should do?
OJB "Come and pay homage, simple."

Genevieve Nnaji responds!!!!!!!!!!!!

Genevieve Nnaji "I can only say that I would like to keep my private life private and I really don't have anything to say"

But if one part of a couple reveals that he is going out with someone as high profile as yourself, it makes the story credible if you can actually confirm this...
Genevieve "Dbanj is an adult and he has said something. Let's just leave it at that..."

But can you clarify the whole thing by simply conforming or denying it?
Genevieve "I don't want to talk about my private life. I don't do it. I am well aware that people will say things. People have been calling me to find things out, but I am not going to say anything. I have learnt over the years that no matter what I say, people will say and believe what they like...you can not please everybody. This is my own way of handling things. I just don't talk about my private life. It's the one thing I can control"

But is it real or a publicity stunt? Is Dbanj lying?
Genevieve "Does he lie?"

By that are you inferring that he wasn't telling a lie and what he said is true.
Genevieve "I am not inferring or insinuating anything. One person has said something and that really is enough. I am not saying I will never talk about it, but for now I do not wish to say anything about the matter.
