AMERICAN BASED NIGERIAN ARTIST EZZIE B
American based artist Ezzie B brings a much-needed flavor to the Afro hip-hop industry. Born Eziaku Ogbonna in Abia State, Nigeria, She later migrated to the United States of America, where she currently resides. Growing up, Ezzie B developed a keen love for music and poetry. From schoolyard ciphers, and freestyle battles to Spoken word concerts and poetry slams, Ezzie B earned her reputation as a potent artist and wordsmith, with attention grabbing “punchlines” and metaphors. As a trilingual artist who is in touch with both her African heritage and American upbringing, she brings a new taste and astute lyrical content to the industry. Her musical Genre is hard to classify, but easy to like, as she is not afraid to ride the waves in between mainstream rap and traditional Afro hip-hop, She is influenced by many artists and styles of music.
As a breakthrough artist, Ezzie B has graced many stages along the East coast of America and throughout the States and abroad. She is the founder of Ezimusik and Ezzie Blog where you can view her blog episodes coined, ‘Blogisodes’ on numerous social networks and youtube.com/ezimusik. She credits her opportunities to her predecessors and plans dynamically expand the creative space for African women in the African American music industry.
Ezzie B currently attends the University of Maryland pursuing a Doctorate in pharmacy but still finds a way to balance both professions. When asked how she managed to do so, she replied, ” Music is my first love and pharmacy is an arranged marriage. I’m not monogamous, but I’m faithful.”
