It has been a while since we have done a Model of the Moment post! Ify Jones kicked off her modelling career after winning the Nigerian Model Awards in 2006. She went on to the 2007 Ford Supermodel of the World competition in New York where she made a strong impression on the judges. Though she did not win, she got a trial contract with Ford Models. Since then Ify transitioned to South Africa where she signed with Ice Models. After that, it was back to New York. Ify was spotted at the recent ARISE Promise of Africa Collective show where she walked the runway for Jewel by Lisa. We had really high hopes for Ify when she first hit the scene. Though she is still building her career, like supermodel Liya Kebebe, some models take off after being on the scene for a while. She is such a beautiful girl with lots of potential – hopefully her modelling career takes off!

Advice for Aspiring Models: Be strong, confidence, patient and be prayerful. Firstly you have to discover your self inside and make sure the passion for modeling is in you. Don’t look at the surface glamour and think its a bed of roses.
