Ruggedman reveals why he recorded his phone conversation with 9ice..
"I guess it‘s a personal experience he had. That is not my concern. My concern was that people and even some soft sell magazines were pointing fingers at me as the person he was talking about in the song. That is not the type of person I am, and I don‘t want families, friends, fans and business partners seeing me as that. Unfortunately, for reason(s) best known to him, he admitted to me that it wasn‘t me or Toni Payne. But he has still refused to clear my name. I was left with no choice but to let people hear him say it himself. That was why I put out the conversation on the Internet. People have now heard him admit it was not me or Toni Payne he sang about, and that‘s all that matters to me. I still got mad love for him and his music, but his behaviour was bad.” Ruggedman

Rugged Man’s Revealing Phone Conversation with 9ice over Toni Payne Affair
"It started as a rumour that 9ice caught his wife Toni Payne giving Ruggedman a blow job. I wondered where such a terrible rumour emanated from only to find out it was from 9ices song titled ”once bitten twice shy”.In the song done by my own friend,he sang that he saw his ”girl” (Not his wife Toni Payne) giving his ”friend”(Not Ruggedman) a blow job.Since 9ice himself did not mention antybody's name in the said song I thought nothing of the evil, wicked rumour, but it spread wider and i heard a lot of people started assuming a lot and i have been called so many things by people over something i did not do.
Even some shameless soft sells unproffessionally published the rumour based on heresay, without talking to the partys involved, but i dont blame them. Some will publish anything just to sell.
I expected 9ice as a friend to come out and clear it up by announcing to people that it was not me he sang about in his song but till date he has not done so to reasons best known to him i guess.I called 9ice to talk about it and clear it up and he said so many things including that he will not come out and clear my name that has been dragged into a maliscous rumour.
I did not want to believe that 9ice has refused to clear it up because it is helping his album sales like some people have said.I did not want to believe it but I am happy i recorded the conversation and I want you all to hear for urselves what he said to me so that this rumour can stop once and for all.
Hear 9ice himself now and know that NOTHING OF THAT NATURE EVER HAPPENED BETWEEN TONI PAYNE AND RUGGEDMAN.
Pls after this,if anybody dares to mention my name in such a thing again its only God that will deal with such a person.
Ruggedman"

ALL SINGLE MEN STAND UP
I say this with the deepest regard for all the single men folk out there….but I must ask…PLEASE WHERE ARE ALL THE SINGLE MEN??? Like where are they? Are they hiding? Are they lost? Have they been kidnapped? Do we have to draw them a map that leads straight to the land of single women? As in…its all getting a bit ridiculous! Majority of Nigerian Cities (and elsewhere I’d imagine) seem to be littered with single women and no single men. Or let me rephrase that slightly, there are single men but they don’t seem to be interested in meeting the single women.
I remember the good old days when my female friends and I would go out for a meal and come back with two men each having asked for our numbers! These days you are lucky if the bar man even notices you. The terrain has indeed changed. Now you go for parties and all the men are huddled in one corner and so are the women, the women eyeing up the men and the men discussing football, completely uninterested in the women. Chai! What really is going on?
It is indeed worrying. More worrying is the effect this is having on single women. A very good friend of mine moved back to Lagos from the States, about a year ago and in a bid to re-enter the Lagos social scene has been meeting up at various events with her old friends, me included. Now this particular friend of mine (let us call her Temi) is one of the hottest girls on the planet….like Halle Berry ain’t got nothing on her! She is one of those girls any man could easily stare at for hours without getting tried. And not to sound too cheesy, but she is surprisingly just as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. So you can imagine my complete and utter confusion when after we attended what I assumed to be quite a fun party last Saturday, she turned to me in the car and asked “Glory is there something wrong with me?” At first I thought she was referring to her make up but the look in her eyes told me she meant something entirely different. “Wrong with you… in what way”? I asked. “I have been in Lagos now for over a year and I can’t seem to meet a decent guy. I only seem to attract married men or guys in relationships. She replied. Take today for example, no guy came to talk to me, not even one! Is there something wrong with me? Am I ugly? She asked with a pained expression on her face. I was actually quite shocked. I couldn’t imagine someone like Temi would have any sort of problems meeting guys, in fact I thought her problem would be the exact opposite. But what worried me the most was that she equated her single status with being ugly.
On the other hand, my male friends who moved back to Lagos around the same time as Temi can’t seem to get women off their backs. Tunde, who coincidentally is Temi’s brother, is always complaining about how Lagos girls no longer let men chase them. The other day he was telling Temi and I about a girl who had approached him at a bar, took his number and called him the very next day offering to take him out for drinks and pay. I guess if the mountain doesn’t go to Mohammed, Mohammed will just have to go to that mountain.
So is this the alternative, remain single forever or chase the men yourself? What ever happened to men being the hunters and all that? Why can’t single men just chase the single women, so we can all get married and call it a day? Why this unnecessary complication? Really, why? Unfortunately, I don’t have any of the answers but I would really like to understand this from a male point of view.
So can all the single men please stand up so we can see you and understand your resistance? Why do you seemingly prefer the company of your male counterparts when you are surrounded by beautiful women? What exactly are we doing wrong? Also any advice for my friend Temi would be gratefully received. Many thanks! :)

Mind blowing.................I'm sure everyone is just happy enough to see 2face in the same room as the legendary Mary J. Blige especially seeing that he is blowing her mind with his style....Me on the hand I'm looking at the fact that for a Nigerian artist doing a song with Mary J.Blige is an amazing entrance into the U.S market. I mean can you imagine the impact this record will have it becomes a single, can you imagine how many artists are gonna be able to come behind him...NAIJA stand up 2010 and beyond LEEGGOOOO!!
Who says Oprah doesn't like Hip-Hop????????
On Monday the MET Costume Institute Gala was held in New York City, so you know all the big stars came out to attend. The gala was highly talked about, but the afterparty looks like that's where the real fun went down. A slew of who's whos were in the building, including Diddy, Oprah Winfrey, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and many more. N.E.R.D. were invited by Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour, to perform, and they went and did their thing. They even made Oprah break out and dance! Check out the flicks of the big "O" getting her groove on with Diddy and Pharrell!

Fighting for Love
I had an amazing weekend! My friends and I had a major cook out, just for the sake of it! Peppered chicken, jollof and fried rice, cat fish pepper soup, honeyed barbequed ribs and all the ‘medemedes’ you can think of! So much for my diet! After, we had eaten till we were bursting out of our skinny jeans and watched what seemed like the 100th Nigerian home video, our conversations turned to the inevitable….MEN. Old boyfriends, new boy friends, toasters, fiancĂ©s, husbands nothing was off limits. At first the conversation was humorous, we laughed at ourselves, at our past and present men. Then almost by design, Cheryl Cole’s “Fight For This Love” song came on. We all echoed the chorus like contestants on American Idol and some of us even tried to copy the steps!
But when the song was over, I started thinking about what it meant to fight for love? This love thing is a tricky business. In the past, I have fought for love and others have fought for my love. But in the end love had already made up it’s mind and the inevitable heartache followed. I remember putting this idea to my friends and they all disagreed. Anything worth having requires a fight, they replied. Fight as much as you want, love always goes where it wants, was my reply. Glory, you need to stop being so cynical! They screamed back!
Maybe age has made me more realistic. You see, I am a firm believer in letting love and life be. I am tired of fighting for what wasn’t mine to begin with and getting severely burnt in the process. A few years ago, I was in a long term relationship. The first couple of years were pure bliss. Off course we had fights. But the good times outnumbered the bad a million to one. Then 3 years into the relationship, the inevitable happened. He changed. The calls became significantly less, and the fights significantly more. It was one issue or the other, one quarrel after another, each fight taking away the memories of good times we’d shared. I will unashamedly admit that I fought tooth and nail for that relationship. In fact I even took training lessons from Mohammed Ali. I did physical, emotional and spiritual warfare. Then one day it hit me! I was the only one fighting! I was like a mad boxer alone in the ring, throwing punches into mid air while my opponent was busy sleeping in a hotel room somewhere. So I stopped fighting and used all that extra energy to take care and love me. It was hard at first but I learnt the hard way that if you have to fight to make anyone love you, it really might not be worth it.
But how do you know if the fight is worth it until you have fought to the end? It’s common knowledge that every fight requires more than one person. So if you ever find yourself fighting for love, it might be worth taking a step back and seeing how many people are actually doing the fighting.
Love, as I have grown to understand it over the years, isn’t as hard as we all make it seem. You either love someone or you don’t. You either want to be with someone or you don’t….yes there will always be challenges, but love means deciding to be with that person regardless of those challenges. So personally I see no reason to fight for someone to love me. None whatsoever. I know its clichĂ© but the saying ‘the best things in life are free’ isn’t at all far from the truth. And if any of the relationships around me are anything to go by, love really is one of those free things and if a fight is necessary to preserve any relationship, like with all things…it should always involve 2.
